Driving/Parking Directions

ExplorACES is designed so that you can arrive when you want, see what you want, and move at a pace that is comfortable for you.

If you're arriving by car: Plenty of free parking, with free shuttle service to both ExplorACES and Engineering Open House, is available on Friday in Lot E-14 south of the "Blue line", just west of the Assembly Hall (corner of First Street and St. Mary's Road in Champaign). The shuttles will run EAST through the parking lot and stop at the red circled area to pick up and drop off visitors.

On Saturday only, ExplorACES visitors are encouraged to park in the parking garage located at the corner of Gregory Drive and Dorner Drive in Urbana. (On Friday, parking in the parking garage is by faculty/staff permit only.)


If you are bringing a large group: Capacity on the shuttle buses is limited, so you may wish to ask your bus driver to drop your group off at the corner of Sixth Street and Lorado Taft Drive in Champaign.

Directions from I-74:

• Take the Lincoln Avenue exit (southbound) to Assembly Hall parking lot.
• Continue south on Lincoln Avenue, past University, Springfield, and Green Street.
• Get into the right lane. Continue beyond Green Street about a mile.
• Turn right (heading west) onto Florida Avenue.
• Continue on Florida Avenue past Maryland, the cemetery, Fourth, and First Street.
• Turn left (south) onto Oak Street, the next intersection after First Street.
• Turn left into Lot E-14.
• Catch the shuttle in the south half of the lot. Shuttles run approximately every 15-30 minutes.
